Free DIY Template: rectangular wedding favor tags

small-blue-bird-wedding-favor-tags

Good Morning! I am so excited to have my first template available for my readers to download: a bluebird wedding favor tags template. I think they came out so adorable! I like the idea of actually saying “thank you” to your guests rather than just having a tag with your names and wedding date.

I made alternate versions with yellow, brown, and “no fill” birds too. (“No fill” means the bird images are only outlines and the color of your paper will show through.) Just print on cardstock, and cut. Use a corner rounder if you want to achieve the look above, but sharp corners would look great too.

Download bird wedding favor tag templates.

If you really want something personalized- print your names and wedding date on the reverse side of the tags to look something like this.

I’ve provided a template for the reverse side as well. I’m unable to make editable templates right now, so in order to do this, you’d have to print the favor tags on your desired paper. Then open up the word document and change the names.  Insert the pre-printed tag paper into your printer, making sure to load so that it prints on the reverse side this time.

DIY tiny wedding favors

These little handmade trinkets are from the Inchmark blog, written by Brooke Reynolds. They were Valentine’s Day gifts given by Brooke’s kids. So cute! I got to thinking….these could work as wedding favors! Each matchbox could hold a few mints or your favorite candy.

DIY, wedding, favors, small, cheap

Can’t you just imagine how cute these would be dressed up with coordinating scrapbook papers and tiny ribbons, twine, or really anything you could think of! These little cuties could make a huge impact! Toss a bunch into a pretty container to greet your guests or place one at each place setting.

Oh, and the best part is- this packaging is only going to cost you around $1.50 for a 10 pack! It’s somewhat self-explanatory, but you can get the directions on making these, here.

ideas for dessert buffets at your wedding

The candy buffet. So what if it’s been done hundreds, maybe thousands of times. A candy buffet done right is always a hit. There’s one name that seems to come to mind nowadays when you say candy buffet in the wedding world- and that’s Amy Atlas.

Really, these are dessert buffets, but you get the idea. Amy has a truly artistic way of presenting delectable sweets to match any affair. Love her work!

But what other types of fun buffets could you do? Cake buffets are rising in popularity, and even cookie buffets. Take a look at these ideas:

buffet

1. Cake buffet~ Mmmm! This can be done with various cheesecakes as well.

2. Candy apple buffet~ How fun is this? You could attempt a DIY with this.

3. Towering cookie buffet~ I like this different take on the cookie display.

4. Popcorn buffet~ Yummy!!! And this one seems like a definite crowd pleaser- something for those with a sweet tooth and those that would rather have a salty snack.

5. Ice Cream buffet~One of my favorites! Who doesn’t want ice cream for dessert? This one doesn’t double as a favor though- that’s probably the only downside.

6. Truffle/ Chocolate buffet~ Depending on your choices, this one could get pricey quickly. The one pictured happens to be a homemade truffle buffet, though.

7. Hot Chocolate buffet~ This one looks so good to me- Perfect for a winter wedding! Those are containers of different chocolates and goodies that get melted down on the spot. This is the kind of stuff that you should think about when you are opting not to serve alcohol. Fancy drink options that will have everyone talking!

8. Donut Buffet~ I didn’t even know this existed! But it’s a unique idea- maybe for a morning wedding?

9. Pie buffet~ If you don’t like cake- don’t have it! Pie is just as sweet!

~~~~~~~~
Now…I must say…as much as I love a dessert/favor buffet, they are not necessary if you’re on a tight budget. Don’t get swept away by the Amy Atlas tables and candy buffets you see on the knot. These things can put a huge dent in a small budget.
But, if you have your heart set on a candy/cookie/popcorn/whatever buffet and you’re on a tight budget, try going the homemade (or local undiscovered baker) route and stick with cookies, candy apples, or other things that you can handle in your own kitchen.
And be creative with your containers- they don’t have to all be the same. Start looking early for bargain glassware at yard sales, on craigslist, ebay, and resellers on wedding sites. It can be done!
etsy find: bridesmaid gifts or wedding favors by sunbasilgarden
I never knew soap could be this cute. These precious soaps are from the sunbasilgarden etsy shop. Are the wedding related? Well, they could be. They could be wedding favors (maybe a little pricey for that depending on your budget…). But they would make the cutest gifts- maybe part of a “Pamper Yourself” gift basket for bridesmaids. I don’t know, but they’re so fun, I’d find a reason to buy them!
