mini flower centerpieces

Good Morning! I hope you all are having a less hectic week than I am! My google reader is in the 1000′s (items to read). These beauties popped up at the top, and I love them! From a great blog called Sunday Suppers. Not a wedding blog, but super inspiring. (Photos by Karen Mordechai, flowers by Rountree)

Love those brown bottles. This is perfect for a DIY wedding!

beautiful bouquets

Lately, I’ve been coming across some really gorgeous bouquets (even as early as this morning!). Which one of these is your favorite?

baby’s breath at your wedding

So some people love it, and some hate it. To be honest, I’ve been on both sides of the fence, but I’ve collected a few images that really show the potential of using baby’s breath at your wedding. Two things come to mind when I think of this “flower.” Winter bride and budget bride.

Baby’s breath are insanely affordable and DIY friendly. And for the winter bride, what better way to capture the feel of snow covered trees or or snow flakes in your hair like the picture below.

I’m just saying….you don’t have to like baby’ breath- but you definitely can’t count it out!

petal push: ranunculus at your wedding

You’ve probably seen this flower in bouquets and centerpieces all over the web. It seems to be a beautiful complement to many types of flowers and equally stunning on its own. Ranunculus offer a unique look even when they are not fully opened. Here are some of the color options for the Ranunculus:

Ranunculus are a great option for DIY flowers- according to Martha, they last up to a week after being cut. Plus, you can create several types of moods with this flower depending on your taste. The white ranunculus are romantic and soft, while the pink and orange are cheery and fun. How cute and simple is this centerpiece from Martha Stewart Weddings? This has DIY written all over it!

There’s also a great post on Ranunculus and its origin, etc on the Design Sponge blog, here.

I found a GORGEOUS centerpiece on Martha Stewart Weddings, so I’ll have a new inspiration board soon!

petal push:phalenopsis orchids

When I saw this bouquet, I had to post it for today. I’m not really a fan of hanging bouquets for the bride, but I LOVE this one. These are phalenopsis orchids that apparently come priced by the bloom, rather than the stem, like roses and other flowers. I think this flower would be beautiful used in a wedding with rich chocolate browns and wood textures. Sigh. This one may not be for the budget bride, but we can be inspired!
